Place-Based Residency
The Place-Based Residency is a unique opportunity for individuals of all creative backgrounds and disciplines to fully immerse themselves in an exquisite retreat environment conducive to working with no distraction. We invite applications from emerging and accomplished artists, arts administrators, agrarians, designers, writers, teachers, researchers, medical professionals, activists, and thinkers who would benefit from a large amount of focused time to create new work, complete a project, conduct research, teach a workshop, write, or simply think amid the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains.
The primary aim of the residency is to provide high quality time and space for professionals to pursue independent projects that push the boundaries of their field. Residents have access to a variety of office, studio, and outdoor spaces appropriate for their work in a thoughtfully designed environment. Successful applicants wish to reflect and explore the impact of place in their work. Residents are encouraged to exchange ideas and engage with the creative energy of the staff and fellow residents, explore the surrounding Adirondack region, and share their knowledge and work with the local community.
